Senior jumper Matthew Kane (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham) of the men's track & field team has been named the Walsh Electric Male Student-Athlete of the Month for December. Kane began the indoor track & field season with record-breaking performances in both the high and long jump. The Keystone State native cleared seven feet in the high jump for the first time in his collegiate career with a leap of 7'0.25" (2.14m) at the Fordham Christmas classic, shattering the previous school record of 6'9.88" (2.09m), held by David Walker. The following week at the MAC Classic, Kane set the school record in the long jump with a leap of 6.84m, which broke the mark he established last season. Kane was awarded consecutive NEC Field Athlete of the Week honors for his efforts.
