BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Wagner men's swimming & diving team earned the third spot in the NEC Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Last season, the Seahawks finished second in the four-team poll, capping off three straight seasons as either first or second in the preseason poll. This season, NEC newcomer VMI overtook Wagner for the second spot in the poll, with twice-defending champion Howard taking the top spot unanimously.
The Seahawks placed second at the 2026 NEC Swimming & Diving Championships with 787.5 points, finishing behind Howard (859 points). It was the third straight season that the Seahawks finished either first or second in the championships. Junior Florian Shumich and senior Nikko Carillo return for the 26-27 season with three NEC gold medals between them.
Wagner will begin its season against Iona in New Rochelle, New York on Saturday, Oct. 17. The meet will take place at the Hynes Center Pool and will start at 11:30 a.m.
