Bridgewater, NJ - Sophomore Rebekka Luoto, sophomore Adrian Andres Moreno, freshman Mia Goodale, and freshman Florian Schumich earn Northeast Conference (NEC) weekly awards.
Luoto took home Women's Swimmer of the Week honors after impressive performances at the Harold Anderson Invite. She took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.09) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.30). The Raisio, Finland native topped the podium twice more in the 400-yard free relay (3:25.45) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:46.77).
Andres Moreno earned the Men's Co-Swimmer of the Week award following stunning performances this weekend. He took first place in both the 100-yard breaststroke (55.04) and in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:01.52). Andres Moreno also helped the squad take first in the 400-yard medley relay (3:21.79).
Goodale earned Women's Rookie of the Week honors after she helped the 400-yard free relay team take first place (3:25.45).
Schumich earned the Men's Rookie of the Week award after two first place finishes. He took first place in the 200-yard IM (1:52.51) and in the 400-yard medley relay (3:21.79). Schumich also helped the Seahawks place third in the 800-yard freestyle relay (6:51.16). This marks Schumich's second Rookie of the Week honor this season. He also won Swimmer of the Week earlier this year.
The Green & White will be back in the pool on Saturday January 18 at the Spiro Sports Center as the Seahawks will welcome Binghamton.
