ATLANTA, Ga. — The United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) announced its All-Academic awards on Monday. 22 Seahawks earned All-Academic honors, with 14 student-athletes being named Scholars of Distinction. Additionally, both squads earned spots on the USFCA All-Academic program lists.
To earn USFCA All-Academic honors, students must maintain an in-season GPA of 3.3 or higher. Student-athletes with a GPA of 3.7 or higher are named to the Scholars of Distinction list.
For the men's team, sophomores
Broghan Bukowski,
Emiliano Renteria and
AJ Sako, and junior
Isaac Oden earned All-Academic honors. Freshmen
Jakub Vrtilek and
Jackson Wheeler, sophomore
Liam Conroy, juniors
Charlie Dolan and
Flavio Vinci, and senior
Diego Lara all surpassed the 3.7 GPA requirement and were named Scholars of Distinction.
The Seahawks were one of 14 teams to earn men's team All-Academic honors, the second season in a row where they've accomplished this feat.
On the women's side, freshmen
Ashley Pullara and
Louann Perrier, and juniors
Morrigan Adams and
Alanna Clayton each earned All-Academic honors. Freshman
Alyssa Cullen, sophomores
Maria Lopez Meneses and
Villo Nyiri, junior
Renata Ziganova, and seniors
Sierra Friday,
Sofia Lopez Meneses,
Kailey Marino, and
Fanny Straub were named Scholars of Distinction.
The USFCA selected Green & White as one of 21 teams to earn women's team All-Academic honors for the fourth season in a row.
