Wagner College Athletics

Sophomore Season (2025-26): Won 24 of his 45 bouts which gave him a .533 winning percentage, and the highest regional ranking among Wagner men’s foilists (No. 34). Qualified for the NC Fencing Regionals in men’s foil, where he won six bouts and reached the second round. Was named to the USFCA All-Academic team.

Freshman Season (2024-25): Renteria earned 46 bout wins in his first season on Staten Island, the second-most wins by a freshman Wagner fencer in 2025-26, and the most wins among Wagner men’s fencers. Qualified for the NC Fencing Regionals and collected a pair of wins in the first round. 

Before Wagner: Competed with the Team Touche Fencing Center in San Diego, CA. During his time there, Renteria medaled in each of four editions of the San Diego Senior Cup (three gold, one bronze). Most recently fenced in the South Coast RYCC and placed in the top 15 for men’s foil.
