CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Wagner College All-American defensive end Cam Gill has signed with the Carolina Panthers.
Gill returns to Carolina after spending the 2024 season with the Panthers. He appeared in 10 games that year, recording 22 tackles and four quarterback hits.
This past season, Gill starred in the United Football League (UFL) with the Louisville Kings during the franchise's inaugural campaign. He was named the UFL Defensive Player of the Year and helped lead the Kings to the 2026 United Bowl Championship.
Gill led the league with three multi-sack games and set a new UFL single-season record with 10.0 sacks while also pacing the league with 12 tackles for loss. In 10 regular-season games, he recorded 39 tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery before adding nine tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack during the postseason. His standout season also earned him recognition as one of the league's four MVP finalists.
A four-year member of the Seahawks from 2016 to 2019, Gill established himself as one of the most decorated defensive players in school history. As a sophomore, he recorded 53 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, and one forced fumble. He followed with a junior campaign that earned him NEC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-NEC honors after totaling 61 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks. Gill capped his collegiate career by recording 60 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks as a senior while repeating as the NEC Defensive Player of the Year. He also garnered STATS FCS First Team All-America honors, Hero Sports Second Team All-America recognition, Associated Press Third Team All-America honors and First Team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference accolades.
Gill originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and spent three seasons with the organization, totaling 29 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble while serving as a key contributor on special teams. Most recently, he spent the 2025 preseason with the Minnesota Vikings before returning to professional football with Louisville.
The Panthers are currently in training camp and will open the 2026 NFL preseason in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
