WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Wagner took eighth place at William and Mary's Colonial Relays, posting 36 team points across the two-day meet.
In the 4x200 relay, junior June Fernandez, sophomore Christine Manneh, junior Victoria Gontowicz and senior Angel Okafor finished second, running a 1:43.51 time. Manneh also took third in the 200m dash, logging a 24.74-second time as one of three freshmen to finish in the top three. Fernandez ran a 1:08.83 time in the 400m finals as her second event of the meet.
Wagner also ran the distance medley relay, with junior Rylee Ferretti, freshman Cristina Abadia Arquillue, Okafor and freshman Olivia Roldan-Casado clocking in at 13:06.01 to finish eighth. Okafor also ran a 2:24.77 time in the 800m run.
Junior Magui Calvo-Jorge ran a 2:15.40 time in the 800m invite final, finishing sixth. She also logged a 4:41.46 time in the 1,500m invite to finish seventh. Ferretti represented Wagner in the 5,000m run invite, clocking in at 17:23.47 to finish seventh in the field of 43. Freshman Jaslene Merizalde competed as well, logging a 20:26.85 time.
Wagner's 4x400 relay team, composed of Fernandez, Okafor, Calvo-Jorge and sophomore Jasmine Burney finished in 4:01.15 to finish eighth. Burney ran the 400m as well, logging a 1:01.79 time. Abadia Arquillie also ran the 400m, just behind Burney at 1:02.64.
Sophomore Ariel Kovach logged an 18.60-second time in the 100m hurdles. Senior Saranda Capani cleared 3.12m in Friday's pole vault finals.
Freshman Rikayla Bingham logged a 1.50m clearance in the high jump invite finals to finish seventh. In the triple jump invite, sophomore Mia Petersen took fourth place with an 11.66m jump. Senior Julia Garcia, with an 11.24 performance, finished seventh and graduate Jovana Miloradovic finished eighth with an 11.20m jump. Petersen also finished sixth in long jump with a 5.49m performance.
Next up, the Seahawks will compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic, beginning Saturday, April 11 at Bucknell's Christy-Matthewson Memorial Stadium. The meet will wrap up Sunday, April 12.
