BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Wagner's outdoor women's track & field team has been selected to finish second in the NEC this season, tied for second with Stonehill and receiving a pair of first-place votes, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Reigning NEC champion CCSU was chosen first, receiving seven votes. Tied with Wagner in second, the Skyhawks received one vote. The Seahawks are coming off a pair of meets to open outdoor season, sending a small group of athletes to the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic then ramping up at the Fred Hardy Invitational on March 20.
The team is coming off an outdoor season where they finished third at the NEC Indoor Championship, scoring 79 points to win one gold, one silver and five bronze medals.
Next up, the Seahawks head to the Monmouth Home Opener, beginning Friday, March 27 at Kessler Stadium and wrapping up Saturday, March 28.
