EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The Wagner College women's golf team defeated Hofstra and Iona in a Tri-Match at the Eisenhower Park Golf Course on Friday.
The Seahawks defeated Hofstra by a total of six strokes, shooting +37 on 321 strokes as a team. Iona finished +54 with 338 total strokes.
For Wagner, freshman Lani Park and sophomore Maria Calleja Pineda tied in third place with a +7 final score, attempting 78 strokes on the course.
Senior Emma Shelby, freshman Palwashi Ali, senior Lily McNally, senior Rileigh Leighton, and senior Josephine Sawyer also competed for the Green & White.
Shelby, Ali, and Leighton all finished within the top 10. Shelby finished +9 with 80 strokes, Ali with +10 and 81 strokes, and Leighton at +11 on 82 strokes.
Next up, the Seahawks take part in the St. John's Women's Invitational at the Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. The Invitational is scheduled for Monday, April 6 to Tuesday, April 7.
