ELLICOTT CITY, Md. – The Wagner College women's golf team opened play at the 2026 NEC Championship on Friday, carding a team score of 341 (+57) to sit in 11th place after day one at Turf Valley Resort.
Sophomore Maria Fernanda Calleja Pineda led the Seahawks, posting a 6-over par 77 to sit in a tie for sixth place. Calleja Pineda highlighted her round with back-to-back birdies on holes 16 and 17. Freshman
Lani Park followed with a 9-over par 80, placing in a tie for 16th.

Palwasha Ali recorded a 20-over par 91 to finish the day in 59th place, while
Rileigh Leighton carded a 22-over par 93 to sit in a tie for 61st.
Emma Shelby rounded out the Wagner lineup with a 23-over par 94, placing 63rd.
The NEC Championship continues on Saturday, April 18, with second-round tee times to be announced.
