WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The Seahawks scored eighty team points on the way to a third-place finish at William and Mary's Colonial Relays.
Freshman Noah Grant won the 100m dash with a 10.36-second time, joined in the top five by senior Alex Taddeo, who ran a 10.65 time.
Senior Dante Rodney finished third in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 53.32, joined in the top ten by freshman Chase Rogers, who ran a 55.38-second time. Junior Michael Seawright finished in 57.67 alongside Rodney and Rogers.
In the 4x200 relay, Taddeo, sophomore Jaden Hobbs, senior Jonathan Carman and freshman Ersell McCullen combined for a 1:26.39 time, finishing second. McCullen also finished ninth in the 110m hurdles with a 15.58-second time, as well as running a 21.99-second 200m to finish eighth. Carman also ran the 200m, logging a 21.99-second time to finish tenth.
The Seahawks also ran in the 6,000m relay, with sophomore Ignacio San Juan, graduate Florian Hinry, senior Eric Marquez and graduate Justin Morris finishing fourth with a 16:23.39 time. Morris also took second in the 5,000m run with a 14:30.98 time, followed by Hinry in sixth with a 14:34.46 finish.
Wagner's sprint medley relay team, composed of senior Omar Abdelaziz, freshman James Torres, freshman Nnamdi Smith and sophomore Khalil Wason, ran a 3:47.51 relay to finish eighth.
Junior Nigel Boboli finished ninth in the 800m run with a 1:55.63 time, followed by San Juan and Torres, who clocked in at 1:56.53 and 2:02.55, respectively. In the 1,500m run, senior Eric Marquez logged a 4:02.15 time.
The 4x400 relay team, made of freshman Noah Grant, Rogers, Rodney and junior Arjanvir Singh, took fourth place with a 3:15.99 time. Singh ran the 400m as well, finishing ninth with a final time of 49.29 in his second event of the meet.
Wagner had the top three finishers in the long jump invite, with junior Jack Mason, sophomore Ty Lawless and junior Khalid Brown logging performances of 7.31m, 7.00m and 6.99m. Those three also finished top ten in triple jump, with Mason finishing sixth, joined by Brown in seventh and Lawless in eighth. In pole vault, senior Julio Martinez logged a 4.32m clearance to tie with fellow Seahawk Eskil Njerve. Sophomore Amir Shokry finished just behind, taking 11th with a 4.17m clearance.
Next up, the Seahawks will compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic, beginning Saturday, April 11 at Bucknell's Christy-Matthewson Memorial Stadium. The meet will wrap up Sunday, April 12.
