Baseball Welcomes Le Moyne to Skylands Stadium for Third NEC Weekend

Augusta, N.J. — Wagner welcomes the Le Moyne Dolphins to Skylands Stadium for the third weekend of NEC play in 2026.

Originally scheduled to be played at SIUH Community Park, the trio of games against the Dolphins was shifted to Skylands Stadium due to ongoing renovations at SIUH Community Park.

Statistical Leaders

Le Moyne's Jack Cannon has the third-highest batting average in the conference, sitting at .426 heading into the weekend, just ahead of Wagner's Dylan Immel, sitting in fourth with a .415 average. Graduate Lukas Torres also appears in the NEC's top ten, batting .400 this season to sit in sixth. Le Moyne's Robert Wegrzyn joins Cannon, batting .392 to round out the top ten.

A high-scoring offense putting up very similar numbers to Wagner, Le Moyne's Isaac Brozon (17), Mike Whelehan (16), Cannon (15) and Adam Sullivan (15) sit sixth, eighth, ninth and tenth in runs scored across the NEC. Cannon is second in conference in hits with 26 and in RBIs, with 24. Torres is ninth in hits with 22 of his own.

Cannon's eight doubles are third-best in conference, with Immel sitting in first with nine. Junior Diego Tavarez is currently sitting in fifth with six.

Finding his way on base to score those 15 runs, Sullivan is also top ten in walks, currently sixth with 16. Torres is just above in third with 19.

Wagner's Last Week

It was a 2-2 week for the Seahawks, with Wagner dropping its first and last games of the week but taking two against LIU for the first NEC series win of the season.

Playing on Saturday, March 14 after inclement weather pushed back the March 13 game, Wagner was run ruled by the Sharks. Coming back for a pair of Sunday games on March 15, Wagner returned the mercy rule favor in game two, taking an 11-1 win to force the rubber game in the second half of the doubleheader.

Stringing together timely hitting with three strong outings on the mound, Wagner put together a 9-5 win. A Tuesday trip to Seton Hall ended in seven innings, with the Pirates taking a 14-1 win over Wagner in the team's final game before hosting the Dolphins.

The series win over LIU was the first NEC series loss for the Sharks after they swept Norfolk State to open conference play.

A Look at the Dolphins

Cannon is certainly the name to know, a junior for the Dolphins who makes his presence known at the plate. He opened NEC play earning Player of the Week honors for a 12-for-18 weekend against Delaware State, including a 6-for-6 game two where he hit four doubles.

His numbers did drop closer to average against New Haven last weekend, a 3-for-11 weekend where he pushed in five runs. Cannon is batting .426 coming into the weekend, the only Dolphin batting above .400 at this point in the season.

Three Le Moyne batters are above .300 — Wergrzyn at .392, Brozon at .356 and Paulie Goodness at .325.

The Dolphins are not home run hitters, with just five on the season, but instead settle for a high number of extra base hits. Their 28 doubles and four triples are good for fifth and third in the NEC, respectively.

On the mound, Le Moyne currently holds a 12.13 team ERA with redshirt freshman Mitchell Earle putting up the best numbers. Through five appearances and four starts, Earle has a 6.63 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 19.0 innings pitched. He has allowed 20 runs on 18 hits, walking 15 and striking out eight with opponents batting .269 against him.

The 2025 Series

Taking on Le Moyne to start April 2025, Wagner opened the series with a 10-3 win at Dick Rockwell Field on Friday, April 4 in the first half of a Friday doubleheader. A four-run scoring burst in the first put the Seahawks ahead early, then they capped off the win with five more runs scored in the top of the ninth, holding Le Moyne off the board until the seventh.

Le Moyne took game two in a 5-0 victory where Aj Petraitis had as good an outing as a pitcher can ask for, finishing at 6.1 scoreless innings pitched with just one hit allowed and a pair of walks. The loss marked the only time in 53 games in 2025 that Wagner would be shut out. Petraitis, back with the Dolphins this season, currently holds a 17.05 ERA and 2.63 WHIP in five starts with 19.0 innings pitched.

Wagner came back on Saturday and took the series, winning 13-7 behind 17 hits and 3.2 innings pitched from Justin Roitman in relief, who allowed just one run to score on one hit, striking out six. Jason Masick took over for Roitman and threw 3.0 scoreless innings, earning the save.
