BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Wagner College women's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Sydney Mulroony has been named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week following her performance against Delaware State, announced by the conference on Monday.
On Saturday, Mulroony scored two goals to go along with one assist, seven ground balls, and four caused turnovers in the Seahawks' 18-3 conference win over Delaware State — two goals, seven ground balls, and four caused turnovers are all career-bests for Mulroony.
On the season, the Rockaway, New Jersey native has scored four goals while tallying a team-high six assists, team-high 15 ground balls, and nine draw controls.
Mulroony is the first Seahawks to receive a conference award since April 28, 2025 when Katie Siverson was named the NEC Player of the Week following a five-goal performance against Mercyhurst.
Mulroony is the first Wagner athlete to win the NEC Defensive Player of the Week nod since Angelina Skowronski earned the distinction back on April 21, 2025.
Along with Mulroony, junior captain Amelia Logan was named a conference Prime Performer following a four-goal, three-assists outing against the Hornets.
Next up, Mulroony, Logan, and the rest of the Seahawks host NEC newcomer New Haven for a 2:30 p.m. opening draw control on Saturday, March 21 on Hameline Field.
