STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Thomas Choi has been named head coach of the women's golf program, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Walt Hameline announced Thursday.
With the departure of previous head coach
Rick Perine, Choi takes over the program as they head into their spring set of matches for the final half of the 2025-2026 season.
Choi has been working as a graduate assistant coach for the men's and women's programs since the beginning of the 2025 season. Prior to joining the staff, Choi was a student-athlete for the Seahawks. He posted a 74.9 stroke average in his graduate season, as well as winning the Metropolitan Intercollegiate in his senior season. At the 2023 NEC Tournament his junior season, Choi took second place and earned All-NEC honors after shooting even par.
Choi graduated with a Bachelor of Science in finance in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Master's of Business Administration with a concentration in finance, which he is expected to complete in May 2026.
The women's golf team will announce the spring portion of their 2025-2026 schedule at a later date.
