LOPATCONG, N.J. – The Wagner women's golf team turned in a strong showing at the Autumn Harvest Tournament, highlighted by a standout performance from sophomore
Maria Calleja, who placed inside the top five individually. The Seahawks posted a three-round team score of 935 (+83) across the 54-hole event, with balanced contributions from throughout the lineup.
Calleja led the way with rounds of 76, 69, and 73 for a three day total of 218 (+5). Her second-round 69 (-2) was one of the best individual scores in the field and helped move Wagner to its lowest team round of the week.
Freshmen
Lani Park and
Palwasha Ali tallied scores of 79-77-78 to finish at 234 (+21) and 77-81-78 for a 236 (+23) total, respectively. Senior
Lillian McNally added rounds of 85-79-83 (247, +34), and fellow senior
Rileigh Leighton rounded out the lineup at 255 (+42).
The Seahawks' best day came in Round 2, when the top four scorers combined for a 306 (+22), fueled by Calleja's under-par performance. Overall, Wagner's consistency across the roster proved key in posting one of their most competitive 54-hole totals of the fall.
The Green & White will return to action later this month on October 15, at the Picciotto vs. Hofstra tournament, hosted at Trump National Golf Course in Hempstead, NY.
