STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner College women's basketball team dropped its NEC matchup against Stonehill, 52–37, on Saturday afternoon inside the Spiro Sports Center.
The Seahawks (11-13, 7-6 NEC) led by four at the conclusion of the first quarter, knocking down 3-of-6 shots from behind the arc in the period.
The Skyhawks (9-15, 5-8 NEC) answered in the second quarter, limiting Wagner to just two points on 1-of-10 shooting while scoring 16 points in the frame to take a 27-17 lead into halftime.
Stonehill held a 10-4 advantage in points in the paint and shot 3-of-7 (42.8%) from deep in the first half. The Skyhawks also owned a 22-14 edge on the glass over the opening 20 minutes.
Wagner shot 6-of-26 (23.1%) in the first half, including 3-of-8 (37.5%) from three-point range. Redshirt junior
Klea Kaci paced the Seahawks with five first-half points.
Stonehill outscored Wagner 11-8 in the third quarter and 14-12 in the fourth to pull away and split the season series, 1-1.

Lijirin Doyinsola Modesayor finished with 14 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes, while Kaci added seven.
