BOSTON, Mass. — Out of state for the first time this season, Wagner's women competed on the first day of Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday.
A contingent of Seahawks took the track as the team approaches the end of its indoor season and ramps up towards the 2026 NEC Championships.
Sophomore Christine Manneh took seventh place in the open 200m, running a 24.87-second race. She also finished 12th in the 60m dash preliminary, logging a 7.76-second time.
Senior Angelina Olah finished 12th in the 500m run, logging a 1:18.89 time. Just behind was junior Angel Okafor, who finished in 1:20.16 for 16th. Junior Victoria Ann Dziubela ran a 10:30.65 time in the 3,000m run. Joining Dziubela in the distance events, senior Angela Cavalieri ran an 18:41.61 time in the 5,000m run
In the mile, sophomore Rylee Ferretti logged a 5:11.31 time in her second meet of the season. Freshman Rehanna Syed joined Ferretti and posted a 5:30.67 finish. Junior Magui Calvo-Jorge, fresh off earning NEC Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Dr. Sander Scorcher, ran a 2:17.32 800m time for a top-50 finish of 156 runners.
In the field events, senior Julia Garcia logged a 4.93m long jump, finishing 16th of 25 jumpers. Senior Saranda Capani cleared 3.06m in pole vault. For high jump, freshman Rikayla Bingham cleared 1.48m to finish 17th.
In the relays, Fernandez, Olah, Okafor and Manneh combined to run a 3:54.87 time in the 4x400, placing 13th of 27 teams competing.
The men's team will compete on Saturday, Jan. 31 to wrap up the John Thomas Terrier Classic as Wagner's final road meet of the indoor season.
After the conclusion of this weekend, the Seahawks will compete in the FastTrack National Invite on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex as their final meet before the conference championship.
