PRINCETON, N.J. — The Wagner College fencing teams dropped their first match up of the new year at Princeton on Wednesday.
Despite the women's 20-7 loss, freshman
Ana Margarita Paredes emerged victorious in all three of her bouts in the epee round. Sophomore epeeist
Maria Lopez Meneses also picked up a bout win in the round.
On the men's side, the Seahawks dropping their duel, 16-11. The epees won their round, winning by a score of 5-4, the lone round Wagner would win between both the men and women.
Like Paredes, sophomore
Daniel Ojeda Buitrago won all three of his bouts in epee, while junior
Isaac Oden and sophomore
AJ Sako each won a bout apiece.

Women: 7-20 (Foil 3-6, Epee 4-5, Sabre 0-9)
The Seahawks will return to the strip next Sunday, Jan. 18 at Penn, as Wagner competes in the Dave Micahnik Penn Invitational at the Tse Center. First bouts are set for 8:30 a.m.
