STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Wagner head fencing coach David Sierra has announced the addition of Leonardo Affede as assistant coach for the Wagner fencing programs.

Affede arrives on Grymes Hill with a decorated international background.

During his competitive career, Affede collected medals on some of the sport's biggest stages, highlighted by:

• Gold & Silver at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore (2010)
• Gold at the Juniors World Championships
• Two-time Gold Medalist at the Cadet and Juniors European Championships
• Gold at the U23 European Championships
• Bronze at the Universiade in Gwangju (2015)
• Two-time Gold Medalist at the Senior Italian National Championships
