Men's Golf Sits Fifth After Opening Round At NEC Championship

Williamsburg, VA - The Wagner men's golf team sits in fifth place at the NEC Championship after 18 rounds at the NEC Championship, posting a +14 headed into day two on Friday.

The Seahawks combined for a team score of 298 in round one, with an 14-over showing.

Freshman Daniel Cassidy lead the way for the Green & White, currently in fifth place shooting a -1 while rolling in five birdies on the day. Freshman Emilio Zapiain tied with graduate student Thomas Choi in 19th place shooting a +4. Junior Alavid Melo Iturralde is currently tied for 31st shooting a +7 and senior Michael Foley is tied for 42nd shooting a +10.

The NEC Championship will continue on Friday with second round action to begin at 9:00 am.
