Moon Township, PA - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team fell to the Robert Morris Colonials by a score of 15-8 at Joe Walton Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 3-0, the Seahawks put together a run of their own, scoring four unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead with 14:19 left in the second quarter thanks to sophomore Danny McMahon who scored his second of the game and 13th of the 2025 campaign.
McMahon, freshman Sean Sanchez, and sophomore Ian Muchineuta were responsible for the Green & White's first quarter scores.
After taking the lead from Robert Morris, the Colonials would score two quick goals to retake the lead, 5-4, with 10:45 left in the second frame.
Junior Smith Callaghan would find the back of the net for the second consecutive game off the feed from junior Jake Mitchell to tie the game at five with 6:52 left prior to halftime.Â
Robert Morris would go on to score four goals before halftime to lead 9-5 at the intermission.
In the third quarter, Robert Morris added three goals to its lead before Mitchell scored his first goal of the game with just under seven minutes left in the frame.
Sanchez and McMahon would tack on two more scores for the Seahawks towards the end of the third. After three quarters of action, Wagner trailed Robert Morris, 13-8.
In the final period of the game, the Colonials outscored the Seahawks, 2-0, to prevail 15-8 as the final buzzer rang.
McMahon led Wagner with three goals on the day, and has scored a team-high 14 goals on the year. Sanchez recorded two goals while Mitchell, Callaghan, and Muchineuta all tallied one goal against Robert Morris.
Callaghan also added a season-high four assists to his stat-line, while Mitchell earned two assists and senior Conor Julich tallied one assist to bring his total to three on the season.
In net, sophomore Angus Snow saved 13 shots for the Seahawks. For Snow, Saturday's game marked the third straight in which he has recorded double-digit saves.Â
On the year, Snow tallied 73 saves in seven games played during his first year on Grymes Hill.
As a team, Wagner was able to capitalize on an extra-man opportunity (1-5) while shutting down all of Robert Morris' extra-man opportunities (0-3). Both the Seahawks and Colonials caused seven turnovers throughout the game.Â
Next up, Wagner will welcome conference foe LIU to Hameline Field on Friday, March 29. Opening face-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
