Fairfield, CT - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team suffered a 20-6 loss to the Sacred Heart Pioneers on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks scored their first two goals of the match within the final minutes of the opening quarter. Seniors Daniel Mercado and Patrick Caldwell each found the back of the net to cut into Sacred Heart's lead, 6-2, after the first.
The Pioneers would outscore the Seahawks, 3-1, in the second period to head into the halftime locker room up 9-3.
Senior Dylan Haase scored the lone goal of the second for the Green & White as junior Max Frissora earned his first assist of his season on the play.
In the third quarter, Sacred Heart extended its lead to 16-4 at the end of the frame. Caldwell scored Wagner's only goal of the period, unassisted. For Caldwell, his goal came with just under eight minutes left in the period, and counts as his third goal in the last three games.
Wagner would score two more in the fourth quarter, as Frissora and senior Ethan Sieb were responsible for Wagner's final period scores. For Sieb, the Frankfort, IL native leads the Seahawks in goals scored with seven goals during the 2025 season.
After 60 minutes of game action, Sacred Heart emerged victorious over Wagner, 20-6.
In net, sophomore Angus Snow played the first, second, and third quarters as senior Nate Yi entered prior to the beginning of the fourth quarter. Snow recorded 10 saves while Yi blocked six shots. Â
On the year, Snow is up to 58 saves and over 340 minutes in net for the Seahawks.
Next up, Wagner will travel to NJIT for a meeting with the Highlanders on Saturday, March 8 at noon.
