Minneapolis, MN - The Wagner College softball team falls in a double header contest against St. Thomas and hosts Minnesota in the Gopher Classic opener.
Game 1 Results: Wagner 0, St. Thomas 6
Wagner's offense was limited to just three hits in the contest. Junior Geanice Morales led the charge with two hits while freshmen Sam Estrada added a single to the tally.
On the mound, Sophomore Karson Zavala pitched four innings allowing six runs on six hits and struck out four. Junior Dallas relieved Zavala by pitching two solid innings giving up just one hit and no runs while striking out one.
Game 2 Result: Wagner 0, St. Thomas 7
Wagner was limited to two walks in the contest which was given to freshmen Emma Rocha and Estrada.
In the pitcher's circle, Junior Natalie Rodriguez pitched 4 innings as he allowed four runs on six runs while striking out two. Junior Dallas Garcia relieved Rodriguez, giving up throw runs. Junior Emma Crosby came in and finished strong with 1.2 scoreless innings allowing no hits, striking out one, and walking one.
