Women's Bowling Takes Part In Second NEC Regular Season Meet

Altoona, PA - The Wagner College women's bowling team took part in the second part of the 2024-25 Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season meet from Friday, February 14 to Sunday, February 16 in Altoona, PA.

Coming into the conference meet, the Seahawks had an NEC record of 6-6 and sat in fourth place out of the seven team field.

At the second conference meet, each team played in six Baker-style and six traditional style matches.

For the Seahawks, Wagner fell in its first three Baker-style games to Mercyhurst, Duquesne, and LIU before taking down Niagara (948-942) to earn its first win of the weekend. The Green & White would wrap up Baker-style play with losses to Monmouth and FDU to end the day at 1-5.

In traditional style action, the Seahawks were led by senior Kristina Colon, who finished the meet with the second-highest pinfall per game out of the 54 athletes who participated with a mark of 192.67 and a grand total pinfall of 1,156.

Colon had four matches with a pinfall of at least 190, punctuated by a 212 effort in a win over Duquesne (921-906).

Junior Angelia Lubrano finished the tournament with the sixth-highest average pinfall per game with an average of 186.67.

Wagner would go an even 3-3 in traditional style play, defeating Mercyhurst (917-838), LIU (912-667), and Duquesne (921-906) while falling to FDU, Monmouth, and Niagara.

Across sixty total games, the Seahawks knocked down 10,506 pins for an average of pinfall of 175.1 per game, with 5,191 coming from Baker-style and 5,315 coming from traditional-style play.

Wagner finished the weekend with a record of 4-8, and completed the 2024-25 season with an NEC record of 10-14.

This marks the most conference wins in Wagner's five year program history, eclipsing the mark of six set in the 2021-22 season when the Seahawks went 6-15. 14 losses is also a program-low mark for a single-season.
