Women's Bowling Set to Open 2025-2026 Season at Shadow Hawk Challenge

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner women's bowling is set to begin their 2025-2026 season on Sunday at Monmouth's Shadow Hawk Challenge.

Held at AMF Strathmore Lanes in West Long Branch, New Jersey will mark the first of a stretch of 10 meets for Wagner. It will be the first of two meets hosted by Monmouth that the Seahawks travel to.

Wagner returns seniors Samantha McDermott and Angelia Lubrano return as veteran leaders, with sophomore Rebekah Newman entering her second year with the team. Freshman Morgan Traver will be a fresh face in her first season with the Seahawks, while junior Mikayla Rivera joins as a newcomer as well.

The Shadow Hawk Challenge will be a new addition to the schedule for the Seahawks, who opened their 2024-2025 season at Kutztown's Golden Bear Invitational. At that meet, the Seahawks placed ninth of 12 teams in attendance, going 3-7 with a pair of wins over Dominican and a win against Adelphi.

The NEC will host Wagner's second meet of the season, located at Clearview Lanes in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania from Friday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 9. In 2024, the Seahawks went 6-6 at their opening NEC meet, finishing fourth of seven teams in attendance.

Third, Wagner heads to East Haven, Connecticut for Sacred Heart's Bowl for the Cure meet on Nov. 16. Wagner went 1-4 at the meet in 2024.

After that comes the second Monmouth-hosted meet, the Garden State Classic, held in Howell, New Jersey's Howell Lanes beginning Friday, Nov. 21. That will mark the final competition of 2025 before Wagner hosts the Seahawk Classic at Rab's Country Lanes on Jan. 25 for the halfway point of the season. Wagner went 3-2 in the Seahawk Classic last season.

Sixth on the schedule is Chesnut Hill's Griffin Baker Classic beginning Friday, Jan. 30 in Deptford, New Jersey at Bowlero Deptford. From there, Wagner has the Mount Shootout starting Friday, Feb. 6 in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania at Clearview Lanes. The meet, hosted by Mount St. Mary's, will wraup up on Sunday, Feb. 8.

The NEC's second meet of the season will start Friday, Feb. 13 and go through Feb. 15 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Steel City Bowl and Brews. The regular season will conclude with the Dr. Robert Cincotta Memorial meet on Friday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 22.

The NEC Championship will be held between the top four teams in the conference, based on winning percentages across three NEC regular-season meets, that will play through a six-meet bracket to determine a champion.
