This Week in Wagner Athletics; 11 Teams in Action as Field Hockey and Women's Soccer Hit Postseason Play

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week. 

Field Hockey 
-Field hockey hits the postseason this week, playing as the No. 3 seed in the NEC Tournament against No. 2 Saint Francis U on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. EST. 
-The 2025 NEC Tournament is hosted by Fairfield, so the Seahawks will travel to Fairfield, Connecticut for their matchup against the Red Flash. 

Football
-On the road for a second consecutive week, football travels to Robert Morris on Saturday, Nov. 8 for a noon game. 
-The Seahawks are fresh off a walk-off 23-20 win over Saint Francis U, sitting at 2-2 in NEC play as they hit the final stretch of the 2025 schedule. 

Men's Basketball
-Starting the season on the road, the Seahawks play VCU Monday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. EST for the season opener.
-On Friday, Nov. 7, the Seahawks head to Seton Hall for a 7:30 p.m. EST tipoff in Walsh Gymnasium. The Pirates open their season on Monday, Nov. 3 against St. Peter's. 

Men's Fencing
-The Seahawks will travel to Poughkeepsie, New York and compete in the Vassar Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 9. First bouts are scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Walker Field House.

Men's Swimming & Diving 
-Wagner will compete in their first dual meet of the season when they travel to LIU on Saturday, Nov. 8. The meet is set to start at 11 a.m. at the Steinberg Wellness Center.

Men's Water Polo
-The Seahawks will be hosting senior night on Nov. 7 at home, playing against MAWPC opponent Fordham at 7 p.m. EST. 
-The team will be back at the Spiro Sports Center again on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 10:30 a.m EST against Mount St. Mary's and again at 4 p.m. EST against Buckell.
-The Seahawks will round out the homestand Sunday, Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. EST against Mercyhurst.

Triathlon
-The first fall sport to arrive at NCAA postseason play, Wagner will be in Tempe, Arizona this weekend for the 2025 NCAA Championship. The championship will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 at Tempe Town Lake. 

Women's Basketball
-The Seahawks travel to Rutgers to open their season, taking on the Scarlet Knights in a 7 p.m EST matchup. 
-Home for the season's first basketball game, Wagner returns to the Spiro Sports Center on Wednesday, Nov. 5 for a 7 p.m. game against New Paltz. 

Women's Fencing
-The Seahawks will travel to Poughkeepsie, New York and compete in the Vassar Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 9. First bouts are scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Walker Field House.

Women's Soccer 
-Another team heading to the postseason, soccer will be hosting No. 3 Howard as the No. 2 seed in the 2025 NEC Tournament in a 7 p.m. EST matchup on Thursday, Nov. 6.
-The Seahawks secured the hosting bid with their win over LIU on Sunday alongside Howard's loss to FDU. On the other side of the bracket, FDU earns the No. 1 seed and CCSU will be the No. 4 seed. 

Women's Swimming & Diving
-Wagner will compete in their first dual meet of the season when they travel to LIU on Saturday, Nov. 8. The meet is set to start at 11 a.m. at the Steinberg Wellness Center.
