STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
Field Hockey
- Wagner takes part in two road games this week, starting off with a Friday, Sept. 11 matchup at CAA member Drexel. The Seahawks and the Dragons matchup is set for 4:00 p.m. on Buckley Field.
- Two days later, the Seahawks travel to No. 17 Monmouth for a noon start at So Sweet A Cat.
Football
- Wagner hits the road for its first away game of the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 12, when the Seahawks travel to Harrisonburg, Va., to take on James Madison. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Bridgeforth Stadium/Zane Showker Field, with live coverage available on ESPN+.
- The Seahawks enter the matchup following their first win of the season, a 31-7 victory over Southern Connecticut State last Saturday.
- Redshirt freshman quarterback Benjamin Newman was named NEC Rookie of the Week after completing 23-of-33 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns in his first collegiate start.
Men's Cross Country
-The Seahawks open 2026 at Back to the Bowl, hosted by Steven's in its second consecutive season. The meet will be held in Holmdel, New Jersey at Holmdel Park.
- Last year, Wagner finished second as a team, with graduate Florian Hinry taking first place individually.
Men's Water Polo
- Wagner heads to Princeton, N.J., for a weekend slate at DeNunzio Pool. The Seahawks will face San Jose State on Friday, Sept. 11, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a matchup against Santa Clara at 5:00 p.m.
- The trip concludes on Saturday, Sept. 12, with an 8:00 a.m. game against Saint Mary's College of California.
Women's Golf
- The Seahawks travel to Lewisburg, Pa., to compete in the Bucknell Invitational. The event will take place all day from Friday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Bucknell Golf Club.
Women's Cross Country
- Wagner opens its 2026 slate at Stevens' Back to the Bowl meet. In its second consecutive season, the meet will be held in Holmdel, New Jersey at Holmdel Park.
- Senior Angela Cavalieri won the individual title at the event last year, leading the women's team to a first-place finish.
Women's Soccer
Wagner remains on the road this week, beginning with a matchup at Seton Hall on Thursday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in South Orange, N.J., with live coverage available on ESPN+.
The Seahawks will then travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on Saint Joseph's on Sunday, Sept. 13. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., with live coverage available on ESPN+.
