BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Senior captain Izzy Gomez was named Player of the Week by the NEC, the conference office announced on Monday.
Gomez earns the nod after a two-goal performance at Stonehill. With two shots through the game, Gomez logged a perfect shooting performance and her second goal in the thirty-fifth minute was ultimately the game winner.
It was a 4-3 win for the Seahawks, who are now 3-1-1 in conference play and 4-2-5 for the season. Wagner's remaining two goals were scored by junior Alana Goldsmith and freshman Ashley Smith.
Gomez has three goals and an assist in the 2025 season, with 14 shots and seven shots on goal. This is Gomez's second NEC Player of the Week honor as a Wagner Seahawk, after previously earning the award on September 9 of the 2024 season.
The Seahawks are back on the field Sunday, October 12 for a 1 p.m. NEC matchup against Saint Francis U. The program will be honoring its seniors before the game begins.
