STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner women's soccer took its second Northeast Conference win of the season on Sunday afternoon, securing a 4-0 victory over Chicago State at Hameline Field.
With the win, the Seahawks improved to 3-2-5 overall and 2-1-1 in NEC play, the Seahawks had a total of thirteen shots with seven shots on goal, six on the first half and seven on the second half.
Wagner's attack came alive early as sophomore
Kelly Gallagher opened the scoring in the eighth minute, finishing off an assist from freshman
Vanessa Lovisa. Just over twenty minutes later, sophomore
Alana Arjona extended the lead with the second goal of the game to give Wagner a 2-0 advantage at the half.
The Seahawks carried the lead into the second half, as freshman
Riley Frederick netted her first career goal in the fiftieth minute off a setup from sophomore
Anayah Rivera. In the eighty-third minute, freshman
Ashley Smith capped off the scoring with her first goal of the season as well.

Abigail Marcello was steady in net, recording three saves to earn her first collegiate shutout.
Chicago State finished with a 14-13 edge in total shots, but Wagner was more accurate with their attacks, putting seven shots on target to the Cougars' three.
The Seahawks will look to carry the momentum into their next conference matchup when they travel to take on Stonehill on Sunday, October 5 in a 1 p.m. matchup.
