STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Wagner College field hockey team (7-10, 6-2 NEC) dropped its final non-conference game of the 2025 season to CAA member Drexel (10-7, 2-2 CAA) by a score of 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Prior to the game, three seniors - Maddie Ciancitto, Abby Reenock, and Hailey Bianchino - were recognized for their careers and tenure as members of the Seahawks' program.
As a team, Wagner attempted six shots with being put on four, and earned four penalty corners during the contest. Three of the Seahawks' four penalty corners occurred during the third quarter. Drexel put up 16 shots with 10 being placed on goal, and earned four penalty corners.
In the cage, sophomore Saar van Dalen recorded seven saves, four of which happened in the first quarter of play. Freshman Julia de Leeuw also added a defensive save in the fourth period, bringing her total up to three defensive saves during her first season on Grymes Hill.
The Dragons found the back of the cage in the second and fourth quarters while holding the Seahawks scoreless to prevail, 2-0.
Next up, the Seahawks host the Rider Broncs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31 at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex to conclude their 2025 regular season.
