Bridgewater, NJ -  The Wagner College field hockey team was picked to finish third in the Northeast Conference (NEC) preseason poll, the conference announced Friday afternoon.

The Seahawks, who lost in the NEC championship game last season, trail only Fairfield and Sacred Heart. Rider, Saint Francis U, LIU, Stonehill, Merrimack, and Mercyhurst finished out the rest of the list.

Wagner will be looking to make its fourth consecutive NEC Tournament appearance and fourth in program history. This is also the fourth straight season the Seahawks have been picked in the top-three of the annual poll. 

Leading the charge for the Seahawks are senior Emma Lofstedt and sophomore Charlotte Müller. Lofstedt was named All-NEC first team while Müller was named to the second team.

The Green & White will begin the 2024 season against La Salle on Friday, August 30 at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex
