STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner College field hockey head coach Aubrey Mytych has announced the Seahawks' captains for the 2026 season with graduate student Claire Evans and senior Victoria Bruno assuming leadership responsibilities ahead of Wagner's 2026 campaign.
Evans earned the captain title during the last year's campaign, starting all 20 games for the Green & White. The Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania native logged a team-high 1207 minutes on the field and helped lead a Seahawks defense that made an appearance in the NEC title game.
Ever since coming over from America East member UMass Lowell prior to the 2024 season, Evans has appeared in 39 games, making 38 starts, accounting for over 2300 minutes played as a member of the Wagner Seahawks field hockey program.
A four-year Seahawk, Bruno saw action in all 20 of Wagner's games during its 2025 year. Bruno found the back of the cage against Fairfield in a home meeting on September 19. Bruno logged 291 minutes throughout last season.
During her tenure, the Parsippany, NJ has appeared in 35 games, making one start, tallying 508 minutes for the Green & White.
Head Coach Aubrey Mytych has assigned four Seahawks to be a 'Leadership Group' alongside Evans and Bruno. Senior Floortje Leunisse, senior Victoria Gonzalez-Lopez, junior Romy Matthies, and sophomore Riahna Pollard assume new responsibilities and roles ahead of Wagner's upcoming campaign.
The Seahawks' 2026 schedule and roster is set to be finalized during the coming months.
