Moraga, CA - The Wagner College softball team dropped both games in its doubleheader at Saint Mary's College on Saturday, March 2.
Game 1: Saint Mary's 5, Wagner 1
In game one the Gales jumped to an early 2-0 lead against the Seahawks but wouldn't score again until the fifth inning. Sophomore Payton Janicki continues to shine for the Seahawks with a solo homerun in the top of the fifth to put Wagner on the board.
Saint Mary's answered back with one more run in the bottom of the sixth inning making the score 5-1. Freshman pitcher Abby Moran battled all 6 innings with 2 strikeouts and only 2 walks.

The Seahawks were held scoreless until the top of the fifth inning when freshman Brityn Buchanan started the rally getting hit by a pitch. Sophomore Jordyn Dulken pinch ran for Buchanan before senior Sam Tran drove Dulken home with a hard hit single to left field.
Saint Mary's answered back in the bottom of the fifth inning with four runs scored making it a 6-1 ball game.
Next up, the Seahawks will travel to Davis, California to take on UC Davis on Sunday, March 3.
