Fairfield, CT - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest, 14-9 at Fairfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Stags opened the game by outscoring the Seahawks 5-1 in the opening quarter. Junior Dylan Haase scored the lone first quarter goal for the Green & White.
Junior Patrick Caldwell scored the lone goal for Wagner in the second quarter as Fairfield outscored Wagner 4-1 in the frame. The Stags took a 9-2 lead into halftime.
Both teams tallied two goals in the third quarter, the Seahawks ended the frame on a 2-0 run as junior James Rea and sophomore Smith Callaghan scored for Wagner.
The Seahawks' highest-scoring frame came in the fourth, the Green & White found the back of the net five times. James Rea tallied four fourth quarter goals, three of which were man-up. Senior Nick Martini added a goal in the fourth.
Despite allowing five fourth quarter goals, the Stags held on for a 14-9 win.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Tuesday, February 27 when they travel to Monmouth at 2:30 pm.
