Staten Island, NY - Wagner College men's lacrosse head coach Bill McCutcheon has announced the team's captains for the 2024 season with graduate student CJ Sweitzer and seniors Nick Martini, Dom DeRiso, and Giovanni Armocida taking on leadership responsibilities.

"We are excited to announce three additional captains for the spring season, all three seniors join CJ Sweitzer who took on a leadership role for our team last season," said McCutcheon.

Sweitzer returns as a captain for the second consecutive season after taking leadership duties with former Seahawks Eli Fisher and Tommy Scarpello. Through two games this season, Sweitzer has a team-high five assists and a tie for team-high six points. Last season, the Hatfield, PA native finished third on the Seahawks with 14 goals and 17 points.

Nick Martini has a team-high six points and a team-high 10 shots. The Westfield, NJ native has recorded hat tricks in both games this season.

Giovanni Armocida has made 32 appearances for the Green & White while making 17 starts. The Barrington, IL native has 34 career ground balls, including a career-high 20 last season. Through two games this season, Armocida has logged two starts.

Dom DeRiso is tied for third on the Seahawks with four ground balls through the first two games of the season, the Greensburg, PA native has won eight face-offs this season.

"It became very apparent through preseason and early on in the regular season that these three guys were doing a lot to help our program," McCutcheon added. "This group gives us veteran experience and I am looking forward to watching them help our young team grow and leave a lasting impression on the Wagner men's lacrosse program."
