Kendall Tabobandung Receives Bronze Medal At World Lacrosse Box Championships

Utica, NY - Wagner College senior attacker Kendall Tabobandung competed at the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships from September 20 to September 29 in Utica, NY.

Tabobandung represented the Seahawks while playing for the Haudenosaunee Nationals, competing against national teams from the United States, England, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Canada, Australia, Germany, Ireland, and Finland.

The Haudenosaunee Nationals Lacrosse Organization are nationally sanctioned by the sovereign Haudenosaunee Grand Council and are governed by the Haudenosaunee Nationals Board of Director as the only indigenous sports group that competes on a world stage. 

Tabobandung is native to the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, as the Haudenosaunee Nationals consist of the six nations; Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and the Tuscarora. 

While at the Championships, Tabobandung appeared in five games, scoring four goals while dishing out four assists.

After losing to Canada in the second semifinal round, Haudenosaunee defeated Australia by a score of 21-4 to gain its gold. In the Bronze Medal game, Tabobandung netted one goal and added one assist on six shots.

The United States of America took home Gold at the 2024 Women's Box Lacrosse Championships after taking down Canada, 10-7.

As a Seahawk, Tabobandung has found the back of the net three times while adding three assists through her eight games played, with her most notable performance occurring against Delaware State on April 24, 2024, as Tabobandung scored one goal and dished out three assists against the Hornets.
