Bridgeport, NJ - Wagner College field hockey forward graduate student Cami Valor has been selected the Northeast Conference (NEC) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Over the weekend, the Seahawks defeated conference opponent Merrimack by a score of 3-0 to improve their NEC record to 6-1, with a chance at the regular season crown on Friday, November 1 against Rider.
Against Merrimack, Valor scored Wagner's first and third goals to lead the Green & White past the Warriors.
Two days later, Wagner fell to No. 20 Drexel by a score of 2-1 in double overtime. Valor scored the Seahawks' lone goal in the first quarter of the game.
Overall, Valor has scored 10 goals, third highest total in Wagner single-season history, while adding three assists to her season staline. Additionally, Valor has played for 629 minutes, and has started all 16 games she has appeared in.
For Wagner, Valor marks the fourth different Seahawk to receive the conference's Offensive Player of the Week nod during the 2024 season.
Sophomore Floortje Leunisse, senior Emma Lofstedt, and most recently, sophomore Charlotte Müller have been named the NEC's Offensive Player of the Week throughout this year's campaign.
Freshman goalkeeper Saar van Dalen has been named the NEC's Defensive Player of the Week three times this season while adding one Rookie of the Week honor as well.
Prior to this season, Wagner has had three separate athletes win the NEC's Offensive Player of the Week all-time, compared to four winners just this year for the Seahawks.
As a team, the Green & White are 10-6, with a 6-1 conference mark, and will travel to Lawrenceville, NJ for a matchup with Rider. Opening pass-back for that game is set for 7:00 pm.
