Loretto, PA – The Wagner College softball team earned an important 5-3 road victory at Saint Francis U on Monday afternoon.
The Seahawks took the early lead in the first inning on an RBI double by graduate student
Mackenzie Vogler, giving Wagner a 1-0 lead.
One inning later, junior
Samantha Tran came through with a two-run ground rule double to left center, putting the Seahawks up 3-0.
The Red Flash got on the board in the third and tied the game at 3-3 in the fourth, but Wagner responded in the fifth, as an RBI single by graduate student
Makenzie Miller put Wagner back in front.
In the seventh, sophomore
Justine Carranza's RBI single brought home an insurance run to make it 5-3, as the Seahawks held on late for the victory.

Eve Harvey earned the win on a windy day in Loretto, striking out three in a complete game victory.
Tran led Wagner with four hits on the day, with Carranza and Vogler adding two hits apiece offensively.
The Seahawks will play five straight home games this week, starting with a midweek doubleheader against Manhattan on Wednesday, before hosting LIU for three games on Friday and Saturday.
