Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's basketball team dropped a Northeast Conference (NEC) contest to Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights outscored the Seahawks 15-8 in the first quarter, redshirt junior
Alex Cowan and junior
Julia Fabozzi both combined for the eight points.
Wagner scored 14 points in the second quarter behind 1-2 shooting from beyond the arc, graduate student
Zhaneia Thybulle and sophomore
Rakisha Ballinger tallied four points each for Wagner in the frame.
Fairleigh Dickinson held a 30-22 lead at halftime as
Alex Cowan led the way for Wagner with seven points.
In the third quarter, Cowan and Thybulle combined for nine points as Cowan tallied five as the Knights held a 48-33 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
Alex Cowan notched double-digit points in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough as the Knights earned the victory.
The Seahawks will host St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday, February 9 at the Spiro Sports Center, tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
