Philadelphia, PA - The Wagner College women's basketball team wrapped up the Hawk Classic with a 72-53 loss to New Hampshire.
In a tight first quarter, the Seahawks shot 6-12 from the field while earning three steals. Junior Rakisha Ballinger led the way offensively for Wagner with six points in the frame, fifth year senior Maite Lara Garcia tallied two steals.
Trailing 17-15 entering the second quarter, the Seahawks were outscored 12-9 in the second. Graduate student Taleah Washington tallied six points while shooting 2-5 from the field in the frame.
New Hampshire took a 29-24 lead into halftime, despite the halftime deficit, Wagner held New Hampshire to 28.1 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes.
The Wildcats went on to outscore the Seahawks 24-10 in the third quarter, freshman Drew Jordon tallied a team-high six points in the third.
The Seahawks shot 42.9 percent from the field in the fourth quarter while tallying 16 points. The Wildcats held on for a 72-53 victory over the Seahawks.
Rakisha Ballinger led the way for Wagner with 15 points and two steals. Taleah Washington, Drew Jordon, and junior Semie Brar all tallied nine points each.
Wagner will wrap up non-conference play on Saturday, December 30 when they welcome Saint Elizabeth to the Spiro Sports Center, tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
