Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's basketball team earned a 84-63 Northeast Conference (NEC) victory over Stonehill at the Spiro Sports Center.
The win moves Wagner to 5-0 in NEC play for the first-time program history.
Wagner jumped out of the gates in the first quarter with 11-17 shooting from the field including 4-6 from three-point range as they took a 28-14 lead into the second quarter.

Alex Cowan shot 3-4 from the field while going 2-2 from deep.
Behind eight points in the second quarter from senior
Drayah Heyward, Wagner took a 43-28 lead into halftime.
Stonehill outscored Wagner 20-12 in the third quarter behind 14 points in the paint.
Wagner put a stamp on the contest in the fourth quarter as they outscored Stonehill 29-15. Redshirt senior
Kem Nwabudu tallied seven of her 14 points in the final frame to help lead Wagner to the victory.
Nwabudu finished the contest with 14 points and 12 rebounds as Dryaha Heyward tallied 18 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Alex Cowan continued her hot streak with 16 points on 3-5 shooting from three-point range as graduate student
Zhaneia Thybulle also scored in double figures with 12 points and six assists.
Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, January 21 when they travel to CCSU. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:30 pm on ESPN3.
