Triathlon Finishes First And Second In Season Opening Race

Montréal, Quebec - The Wagner College women's triathlon team finished first and second in the team relays in its season opener at the Super Sprint Grand Prix in Montréal, Canada.

Individually, the two standouts of the weekend were freshman Vivien Mattice and junior Maia Vitoratos.  In her first outing representing Wagner, Mattice placed fifth out of 27, finishing with a time of 31:09. Maia Vitoratos placed 12th, clocking in at 32:13. 

On Sunday, Maia Vitoratos participated in the Sprint Distance Race and placed first out of 55 competitors. With a swim time of 11:05, a bike time of 30:57, and a run of 12:40, she completed the race in 57:25 minutes.

Senior Ally Meehan, freshman Kayla Renwick, and freshman Presley Staretz also competed throughout the weekend.

The Seahawks make their next appearance at Stony Point, NY and will race in the Toughman Sprint on September, 24th.
