Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team will play host to the Merrimack Warriors on Wednesday, with first pitch set for noon. The game will be broadcast on NECFrontRow.
Wednesday's game marks the third game of the Northeast Conference (NEC) series that was originally scheduled for April 3, but was postponed due to weather.
In the first two games of the series, Wagner earned a convincing sweep over the Warriors, defeating Merrimack 9-2 in game one before earning a 3-1 victory in game two.
Senior
Eve Harvey was named the NEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
Harvey shares the award with Mount St. Mary's pitcher Amanda Berkley. This marks the second consecutive week that a Wagner pitcher earns the award, with sophomore
Scarlett Lloyd picking up NEC Pitcher of the Week honors last week.
Harvey earned two complete game victories in two days, as the Seahawks picked up a three-game sweep over Central Connecticut last weekend.
The senior only allowed one run in 17 innings, while striking out 11 Blue Devils.
As a team, the Seahawks have won seven straight games and are undefeated at home while checking in at 5-3 in NEC play.
Merrimack enters Wednesday's contest with a 4-7 NEC mark and 8-18 overall record.
Offensively, four Seahawks have double-digit RBIs in freshman
Kate Wolf (15), sophomore
Keaghan Ward (13), Lloyd (12), and senior
Natalie Del Ponte (10).
Lloyd also leads Wagner with 76 strikeouts in the circle on the year.
Following Wednesday's game, Wagner will travel to Bryant for a three-game series on Friday and Saturday.
