Brookville, NY – The Wagner women's lacrosse team is set to travel to LIU for a Northeast Conference (NEC) contest on Wednesday afternoon.
Last Time Out
The Seahawks opened NEC play with a convincing 16-5 victory over Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon at Hameline Field.
The Green & White put a stamp on the contest when they outscored the Blue Devils 5-1 in the opening quarter. Wagner opened the contest on a 5-0 run when graduate student 
Madeline Seims and senior 
Maria Henwood tallied two goals apiece, junior 
Sarah Shaughnessy tallied the fifth and final goal of the frame.
 
The Seahawks carried the momentum into the second quarter and outscored the Blue Devils 3-2 behind goals from junior 
Casey Haas, sophomore 
Kelsey Scheidel, and graduate student 
Stefani Peluso. The Green & White took an 8-3 advantage into the intermission.
Five goals in the third quarter for Wagner opened up a 13-5 lead as senior 
Kasey Dorney scored twice while 
Madeline Seims, junior 
Megan Greco and freshman 
Katie Siverson tallied goals.
 
Peluso tallied three goals in the fourth quarter to give her four in the contest. Her third goal of the quarter gave her 100 career points as a member of the Green & White.
Peluso Reaches The Century Mark
Stefani Peluso garnered her 100th career point on Saturday while tallying four goals in the contest. Peluso joins classmate 
Madeline Seims as the only two current Seahawks to eclipse the century mark in career points.
Through her career, the Branchburg, NJ. Native has 56 goals on 168 shots and 113 shots on goal. Peluso has also dished out 44 career assists in 63 career games played.
 
Milestone Watch
There are a number of different Seahawks who are closing in on individual milestones as 
Kasey Dorney has 90 career goals, senior 
Aileen Hannan has 76 career ground balls, graduate student 
Victoria Tucci has 93 career points and classmate 
Giaci Vitolo has 86 career ground balls.
Senior goalkeeper 
Lauren DiStefano is three saves away from 300 career stops while 
Madeline Seims stands two points away from 150 throughout her career on Grymes Hill.
Aileen Hannan Claims NEC Recognition
Senior defender was named an NEC Prime Performer on Monday afternoon for her strong performances this past week against Siena and Central Connecticut State.
 
Against Siena on Wednesday, March 23, the Rockville, MD native scooped four ground balls and caused four turnovers while scooping six ground balls, caused three turnovers and dished out one assist against Central Connecticut State on Saturday, March 26.
Hannan leads all NEC players with 31 ground balls, 3.44 ground balls per game, and 17 caused turnovers. The Rockville, MD native ranks second in the NEC with 1.89 caused turnovers per contest.
NEC Leaders
Wagner leads the NEC in ground balls per game with 20.44 and 184 total ground balls. Wagner also leads the conference with 97 total caused turnovers and are tops in the conference with 10.78 per contest.
Last Time Against LIU
On May 5, 2021, the Seahawks defeated the Sharks in the NEC Tournament Semifinals, 16-8, to advance to a conference-record seventh straight championship game. On that day, the Seahawks broke the previous record of six straight conference title game appearances held by the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) from 1998-2003.
 
Kasey Dorney led all scorers with five goals and seven draw controls while 
Maria Henwood tallied a hat trick as well.

Madeline Seims scored once and dished out one assist. Senior goalkeeper 
Lauren DiStefano registered 12 saves on 20 shots faced.
About The Sharks
The Sharks welcome the Seahawks with a 2-8 record have won two out their last three contests after defeating Saint Francis U, 11-7, in their NEC opener on Saturday afternoon.
Graduate student Amanda Masullo leads the Sharks leads the Sharks with 19 goals. 24 points, 37 draw controls. Senior Whitney Moran is second on the team with 18 goals and 20 points. Senior Hailey Duchnowski has started every game for the Sharks in between the pipes and is sporting a .518 save percentage while stopping 118 on 228 shots faced.

After traveling to LIU, the Seahawks will host Saint Francis U at Hameline Field on Saturday, April 2 at 12:00 P.M.
