Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team will host Saint Peter's on Tuesday for the Seahawks' 2022 home opener, with first pitch set for 2:00 pm at the Lower Field. Both games will air live and for free on NECFrontRow.
Tuesday's series marks the second meeting this season between the Seahawks and Peacocks. On March 16, Wagner earned the sweep at Saint Peter's. In game one, the Seahawks earned a 4-3 extra inning victory before shutting out the Peacocks in game two's 6-0 win.
In game two, sophomore
Scarlett Lloyd turned in a dominant performance, only allowing two hits in a complete game shutout while striking out eight batters to earn the victory in the circle. Offensively, the sophomore collected three hits and one RBI.
Lloyd leads Wagner with a .343 average this season and is tied with sophomore
Keaghan Ward for the team lead with 11 RBIs.
Defensively, the Seahawks remain one of the top teams in the country in fielding percentage, checking in at 18
th nationally with a .976 fielding percentage.
The Peacocks enter Tuesday's doubleheader with an 11-11 record, most recently earning a split against Howard.
Following Tuesday's games, the Seahawks will continue Northeast Conference (NEC) play against Merrimack on Saturday and Sunday at the Lower Field.
