Staten Island, NY- The Wagner women's swimming & diving team returns home to the Spiro Sports Center for Senior Day on Friday to face LIU at 4 p.m. with the meet being streamed on NEC Front Row.
Last Time Out For The Seahawks…
- Wagner defeated St. Francis Brooklyn, 169-70, on January 22 at the SFC Aquatic Center in Brooklyn Heights, NY, for the team's third straight win.
- Efthimiou's performance earned her NEC Co-Diver of the Week and Prime Performer. The sophomore posted a winning score of 241.65 in the 3 Meter Diving event.
- The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team made up of Jencova, Guirre, Hassell, and Allie D'Allegro hit the wall first as well.
Scouting LIU…
- The Sharks have won five of their six meets this season.
- LIU last competed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on December 3-5, 2021 and finished in third place out of nine teams competing.
- Ella Johnson won the B final of the 500 Freestyle and then set a new ECAC meet record in the 200 Yard Butterfly.
- Allie Bashor won the B final in the 200 Individual Medley.

Meet The Seniors…
Maddy Delore is in her fourth season with the Green & White. The Alameda, CA native helped the 200 Free Relay set a new pool record in 1:37.38 at the CCSU Invite her junior year. … In the same season, Delore set a new personal best in the 50 Yard Freestyle at the NEC Championships (24.51) and a new career-best in the 50 Yard Butterfly at the CCSU Invite (27.48).
Juju Desforges is in her second season with the Seahawks after coming over from Tulane. The Lyon. France native has racked up five individual wins this season. Desforges has been a force for the Green & White, touching the wall first in the 50 Yard Freestyle four times. Her best time of the season came on October 30, 2021 against Mount St. Mary's (24.23). Desforges' lone win outside the 50 Yard Freestyle events came in the 100 Yard Freestyle race on October 16, 2021 at the Iona & Sacred Heart meet.
Ellie Eastwood has a team-best 12 individual wins on the season for Wagner. The Whangarei, New Zealand native received NEC Co-Swimmer of the Week for the first time of her career back on November 10, 2021. The four-year Seahawk has had a successful career on Grymes Hill that also featured Rookie of the Meet honors at the NEC Championships in 2019, NEC Rookie of the Week twice, NEC Co-Swimmer of the Week, and numerous NEC Prime Performer accolades.
Maggie Gregory placed in the top ten on the 3-meter board at the NEC Championships with 205.45 points, qualifying for the A-Final in her first year of competition. She also placed second on the 3-meter board at the ECAC Championships with 242.00 points. The Columbus, IN native placed third on the 1-meter board at the Iona Quad that season with 186.35 points.
Mary Tsianaka is in her fourth season on Grymes Hill. The Athens, Greece native picked up her first individual victory this season on January 21 at Saint Peter's in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 56.34. Tsianaka's junior season featured a third-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:03.36) vs Sacred Heart, setting a season-best in the 50 Yard Freestyle (25.52) and in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:58.07) at the NEC Championships, and placing second in the 100 Yard Freestyle (57.32) against LIU. During her sophomore season, Tsianaka set a new personal best in the 1000 Yard Freestyle (12:06.01) against Siena and 50 Yard Butterfly (27.36) at the CCSU Invitational.

The Seahawks are set to compete in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships at Spire Institute in Geneva, OH beginning on Tuesday, February 22 and running through Saturday, February 26.
