Men's Track And Field Competes At Fasttrack National Invitational On Friday

Staten Island, NY - Several members of the Wagner men's indoor track and field team participated at the Fasttrack National Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. 
 
The Seahawks turned out an impressive showing in the 800m, with Mahmoud Abdalla leading the way with a time of 1:55.22. Robert Guidicipietro (1:56.26) and Muhammad Qadri (1:58.09) each finished among the top-20, placing 13th and 20th, respectively. 
 
For Abdalla, he moves to eighth on the Northeast Conference (NEC) Performance List with his performance at Friday's competition. 
 
In the men's mile, four Wagner competitors finished among the top-25, led by Luke Cunningham, who clocked in with a time of 4;17.34. Yannik Gerland (4:23.96) placed 18th overall while Paul Siconolfi (4:25.12) and Justin Morris (4:25.91), finished 21st and 25th. 
 
Cunningham cracks the top-10 on the NEC list, moving just ahead of Central Connecticut's James Sullivan, who stands with a time of 4:17.34 in the mile. Wagner has a total of nine runners on the top-20 in the event, paced by William Cuthbertson's 4:08.44 (set at the Great Dane Classic). 
 
Newcomer Jean Uminski along with Guidicipietro were among the top-20 finishers in the 5000m, with Uminski posting a time of 15:28.02 while Guidicipietro finished in 15:42.02. The duo moved up on the performance list as well, with Uminski now standing in sixth while Guidicipietro stands in 13th overall. 
 
Rounding out the performances on Friday was Josiah Cadet, who placed eighth overall in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.52.
 
The Seahawks will set their sights on defending their 2019-20 title as the next up is the 2022 Northeast Conference (NEC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held on Sunday, February 20, and Monday, February 21.
