Syracuse, NY – The Wagner women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest at Syracuse on Sunday afternoon.
Syracuse put a stamp on the contest in the opening quarter when they outscored Wagner 27-12.
Fifth year senior
Kem Nwabudu led the way for Wagner in the opening quarter with 10 points on 5-8 shooting.
Syracuse continued its momentum in the second quarter as they outscored Wagner 18-11.
Redshirt junior
Alex Cowan led the way for the Green & White with four points in the quarter.
With Syracuse holding a 45-23 lead at halftime, the Seahawks showed fight in the third frame behind 3-8 shooting from three-point range.
Alex Cowan led the way with six points on 2-4 shooting from beyond the arc as Wagner outscored Syracuse 17-16 in the third.
In the fourth quarter, Syracuse outscored Wagner 22-13 to preserve an 83-53 victory.
Kem Nwabudu led all Seahawks with 14 points to go along with four rebounds and two steals while
Alex Cowan tallied 12 points and five rebounds.
Graduate student
Zhaneia Thybulle tallied five points and six assists in the contest.
The Seahawks will return home to welcome NJIT to the Spiro Sports Center on Saturday, December 17 with tip-off slated for 2:00 pm.
