Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's basketball team earned a 67-50 victory over Saint Peter's at the Spiro Sports Center on Thursday evening.
In a back-and-forth first quarter, Wagner shot 6-17 from the field behind six different players who tallied points in the frame.
Saint Peter's took a 18-17 lead into the second quarter.
Wagner outscored Saint Peter's 22-12 in the second quarter behind seven points from redshirt junior
Alex Cowan and junior
Julia Fabozzi. Wagner shot 9-16 from the field in the second quarter including 2-4 from three-point range as the Seahawks took a 39-30 lead into halftime.
Wagner held Saint Peter's to just six points in the third quarter as the Peacocks shot 2-19 from the field and 0-7 from three-point range.
With Wagner holding a 49-36 lead heading into the fourth quarter, Wagner outscored Saint Peter's 18-14 to preserve its second consecutive victory at the Spiro Sports Center.
Fifth year senior
Kem Nwabudu led the Seahawks with 15 points and three rebounds as
Alex Cowan tallied 13 points.
Julia Fabozzi tallied 13 points off the bench as Wagner's second unit outscored the Saint Peter's second unit 25-1.
Drayah Heyward tallied eight points, eight rebounds and five assists in the win.
The Seahawks will return to action on Monday, December 5 when they continue non-conference play at New Hampshire.
