Swimming & Diving Completes Home Tri-Meet; Women Pick Up Two Wins

Staten Island, NY- The Wagner women's swimming & diving program picked up two wins on Saturday at the Spiro Sports Center.
 
The Seahawks defeated St. Francis Brooklyn 176-123 and Felician 261-22. On the men's side, Wagner fell in a close meet to St. Francis Brooklyn, 145-141.
 
Olivia Bishop continued her impressive start to the season with two more individual wins on the day. The senior touched the wall first in the 200 Yard Freestyle at 1:55.56 and the 100 Yard Freestyle at 53.27.
 
Shamiya Guirre won the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 58.75 and touched the wall second in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:09.76. Maile Mora won her first event of the season with a time of 2:14.01 in the 200 Yard Butterfly.
 
Aura Vilarrasa had another successful meet, winning the 200 Yard Backstroke at 2:08.54 and finishing second in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:56.20. The freshman now has three individual victories on the season.
 
Meliti Efthimiou won both the 1 and 3 Meter Diving events, posting scores of 211.88 and 224.33, respectively.
 
For the men, Kaan Nalcaci won three individual events on Saturday, pushing his rookie season win total to seven. The freshman touched the wall first in the 200 Yard Backstroke (1:55.76), 200 Yard Freestyle (1:45.24), and 200 Yard Butterfly (1:57.49).
 
Adrian Aguirre won two more events in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 51.89 and 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 52.74.
 
Russell Gavino won the 100 Yard Breaststroke, touching the wall at 1:00.12. Carter Green won the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 176.70.
 
The Seahawks wrap up the first half of the season on Friday, December 2 through Sunday, December 4 at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships in East Meadow, NY.
